Former Unilever Factory Demolition, Warrington

Phased demolition and site clearance of a 2.9-hectare former Unilever chemical plant, preparing the site for future data-centre redevelopment.

Scribe developed the demolition scope, procured the works and provided project management and contract administration under a JCT Design & Build contract. Our role included programme coordination, meetings and reporting, valuation and change control, final account management and overall delivery strategy.

The multi-phased works involved asbestos removal, hazardous materials, service isolations, environmental controls and complex interfaces across three separate landowners and stakeholders. Scribe also managed access, possession and interface arrangements and led direct liaison with Network Rail in relation to the adjoining West Coast Main Line and operational freight railway.

Through early scoping, risk management and procurement, we improved scope clarity, reduced delivery risk and achieved cost savings for the client.
